Missed a dose? The rules for every treatment

Mounjaro #

Take the missed dose within 4 days (96 hours), then resume your usual day. Beyond 96 hours, skip the missed dose entirely. Never take two doses within 3 days of each other.

Wegovy pen #

Take the missed dose within 5 days, then resume your usual day. Beyond 5 days, skip the missed dose. Never double up.

Wegovy tablets and Foundayo #

Skip the missed tablet and take the next one at the usual time the following morning. One missed daily dose is insignificant. Never take two to catch up.

After a longer gap #

If more than about 2 weeks pass without a dose, tolerance fades. Restarting at your previous dose can bring back week-one nausea in full. Message your prescriber first. You will usually restart one or two steps lower and re-titrate. This is routine, and the check-in exists for exactly this.

Making misses rare #

• Anchor the weekly dose to a fixed ritual, Sunday breakfast, bin day, a favourite programme.
• Set a phone reminder plus a backup 24 hours later.
• Keep the pen visible in the fridge door, not buried at the back.
• Order your next pen when the current one has one dose left, the reminder message a week before you run out is the safety net, not the plan.
